Rules at a glance
Do all winning squares need to be locked?
No. Standard ends immediately when you control a complete row, column or main diagonal. Top pieces determine control. Hold the Line is a separate variant with different win timing.
Why can’t I take a square back?
If your opponent just took that square from you, Standard blocks your immediate retake on the next turn. Play elsewhere first. A full three-piece stack is locked and can never be retaken through ordinary placement.
Can I place on my own pieces?
Yes, Standard allows self-stacking on an open square. The third piece locks the square for its top player. Variants can change self-stacking, so check the selected setup.
Does every board use a line of four?
No. Standard is 4×4 with a line of four. Quick 3×3 requires three; Long 5×5 requires five. A winning line spans the board.
Choosing a mode
What is the difference between Streak and Quick Play?
Streak tracks consecutive wins against increasingly challenging computer opponents. Quick Play lets you practice an individual game and use learning aids such as hints and Undo. Personal achievement ranks are not a verified public leaderboard.
How do I play with someone?
Local play lets two people share a device. Private online play lets you host or join a match using the game’s invitation flow. Both players need an internet connection for online play.
Can I play offline?
Solo and same-device games in the Android app work offline. Online matches need a connection. On the web, offline availability depends on the game’s cached files; load the game online first.
Ads, purchases and privacy
Does the Android Remove Ads purchase apply to the website?
The one-time Remove Ads product is for TAKXO on Android. Restore it using the same Google Play account. It is not a subscription and does not change game rules, computer strength or achievement ranks. Regional pricing is shown by Google Play at checkout.
What if my Android purchase is missing?
Check that Google Play uses the account that made the purchase, connect to the internet, then use Restore purchases in TAKXO Settings. Pending payments do not unlock ad removal until they complete. Contact us if the problem continues; never send card details or your Google password.
Where can I read about data use?
Read the website privacy policy or the Android privacy policy. Android gameplay analytics is a separate optional choice for adults; buying ad removal does not grant analytics consent.
