TAKXO Rules
Standard TAKXO is deliberately simple. Optional rules let you change the length and feel of a match without changing the core idea.
Standard TAKXO
4 × 4 board · 3 pieces high · Self-stacking allowed · Reveal off
Players alternate placing pieces. The visible top piece controls a square. Complete a full row, column, or diagonal to win.
Board Size
3 × 3 is quicker, 4 × 4 is Standard TAKXO, and 5 × 5 creates a longer game. The board size determines the line length required to win.
Stack Limit
Choose 2, 3, or 4 pieces high. Once a stack reaches the limit, normal placements can no longer change that square.
Self-Stacking
When allowed, you may stack on a square you already control. This can be used to fortify and eventually lock a position.
Reveal
Optional. Once per player, remove the top piece from a stack containing at least two pieces. The piece underneath becomes active again.
TAKXO Lab
The in-game Lab contains experimental strategic rules and testing tools. Lab mechanics are playable experiments and may change as TAKXO is refined.
